2007 St Patrick’s Day Run/Walk

OALASA and CASA will once again put in a Team of runners and walkers in the St. Patrick’s’ Day 5 Km Race.  It is being held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 in Toronto.  We are looking for participants who are OALASA and/or CASA members who would like to join us in this year’s event.  You can run, jog, walk or just stroll.  Ethel Sage has participated for the last 3 years using her wheelchair.

The Course is completely fenced off, on a flat stretch on CNE grounds with mileage marks, water stations, first aid assistance and over 1500 participants.   Starting time is 10:15 am sharp with most participants finishing in less than an hour.  One of our Amputee runners
(Marc Martel  AE ) takes less than 20 minutes.

Our Team, the CASAnovas will once again be sponsored by CASA (Canadian Amputee Sports Assoc) and OALASA (Ontario Amputee & Les Autres Sports Assoc) with proceeds returning to the two Organizations.  In the first 4 years our Team members raised more than $9000 in Pledges.   CASA will be paying the Entry fee for our Team and each Team Member gets a bowl of Irish stew and a beer at the end of the Race.  Post Race festivities include entertainment and prizes in the Automotive Building at the CNE.

This years Race/Run once again is conducted by the Achilles Track Club who will be setting up the timing for each runner/walker and will also conduct the Post Race festivities.  For Statistics and Times from last year’s Race please click on  www.achillestrackclub.ca

Look under the heading “Achilles St Patrick’s Day Run Toronto” and “search” for times under individual Names, or Teams or Groupings.

It is a lot of fun to participate and a great way to bring in much needed funds to CASA in support of Canadian Amputee Sports.  If you are interested in being part of the CASAnova Team this year, please contact Ed Krayewski at edkrayewski@yahoo.ca or call 905 358 7632

If you feel you are not able to participate but would like to Pledge to our Team’s efforts, please Contact Ed.  All Pledges of $20 or more will be given a Tax Deductible receipt.
